táim saor ó mo pheaca?”
10 Meáchan anseo, a mhalairt ansiúd; tomhas anseo tomhas eile thall;
is gráin leis an Tiarna iadsan araon.
11 Taispeánann an leanbh dúinn fiú agus é ag súgradh,
an olc nó an maith a bheidh a bhearta.
12 An tsúil a fheiceann agus an chluas a chluineann,
is é an Tiarna a rinne iad araon.
13 Ná bí ceanúil ar an gcodladh, nó beidh an bhochtaine agat mar chéile;
bíodh do shúile ar leathadh agus beidh flúirse bia agat.
14 “Níl aon mhaith ann, níl sin,” a deir an ceannaí
ach imíonn sé leis agus é ag maíomh as féin.
15 Tá an t-ór ann, agus raidhse cloch lómhar,
ach is iad beola an eolais an tseoid róluachmhar.

31 Ar dhul amach dó arís as críocha na Tuíre, chuaigh sé tríd an tSíodón go farraige na Gailíle trí lár chríocha Dheacapoil.
32 Agus thug siad chuige duine bodhar a raibh bascadh ar a chaint agus d’iarr siad air a lámh a chur air.
33 Thug sé i leataobh ón slua é ar leithligh agus chuir a mhéara ina chluasa, le seile as a bhéal bhain sé lena theanga,
34 agus, ag breathnú suas ar neamh dó, rinne sé osna agus dúirt leis: “Eafatá!” – focal a chiallaíonn: “Osclaítear thú.”
35 Agus osclaíodh a chluasa láithreach, agus scaoileadh an sreangán dá theanga agus labhair sé i gceart.
36 Agus d’ordaigh sé dóibh gan a insint do dhuine ar bith, ach dá ghéire a d’ordaigh sé dóibh is ea ba mhó a bhí siad á fhógairt,
37 agus bhí ionadh saoil orthu ag rá: “Rinne sé gach aon ní go maith: thug sé éisteacht do bhodhráin agus caint do bhalbháin.”

Jesus said to the man who was deaf and had a speech impediment, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” And his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly.

31 Then he returned from the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis.
32 And they brought to him a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment, and they begged him to lay his hand on him.
33 And taking him aside from the crowd privately, he put his fingers into his ears, and after spitting touched his tongue.
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him,
“Ephphatha,”
that is,
“Be opened.”
35 And his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly.
36 And Jesus charged them to tell no one. But the more he charged them, the more zealously they proclaimed it.
37 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”
