An Bíobla Naofa 1981

An té a ghráíonn an t-airgead ní bhíonn a shá de aige choíche agus an té a ghráíonn an saibhreas ní bhfaighidh sé aon sochar as – baois is ea é seo chomh maith.

Cóheilit 5:9

Ach déanaigí ríocht Dé agus a fhíréantacht a lorg ar dtús, agus tabharfar na nithe sin uile daoibh chomh maith.

Matha 6:33

Cóheilit 5 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

6 Óir as an iomad taibhreamh tagann baois agus barraíocht baothchainte. Maidir leatsa, áfach, bíodh eagla ort roimh Dhia.
7 Má fheiceann tú foréigean á imirt ar bhochtáin agus an ceart agus an chóir á gcur as a ríocht sa stát, ná bíodh aon ionadh ort faoi, mar bíonn an t-ardfheidhmeannach ag faire ar an bhfeidhmeannach agus tá feidhmeannaigh eile ann atá níos airde ná ceachtar acu.
8 Níl aon rud níos tairbhí do thír ná rí a bhfuil a chuid talún dea-shaothraithe.
9 An té a ghráíonn an t-airgead ní bhíonn a shá de aige choíche agus an té a ghráíonn an saibhreas ní bhfaighidh sé aon sochar as – baois is ea é seo chomh maith.
10 Nuair a mhéadaíonn an saibhreas tagann méadú ar líon na gcaiteoirí freisin. Mar sin de cén tairbhe é don té ar leis é ach lán a shúl a bhaint as?
11 Is go suaimhneach sámh a chodlaíonn an fear oibre cibé acu a bhíonn beagán nó mórán ite aige ach cuireann ollmhaoin an duine shaibhir codladh na hoíche amú air.
12 Tá olc scannalach ann a chonaic mé féin abhus faoi luí na gréine: saibhreas á thaisceadh ag an duine ar leis é chun a dhíobhála féin;

Matha 6 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

30 Lus an bháin a bhíonn ann inniu agus atá le caitheamh sa sorn amárach, má éadaíonn Dia mar sin é, nach móide go mór dó sibhse a éadú, a lucht an bheagán creidimh?
31 Dá bhrí sin, ná bígí go himníoch ag fiafraí: ‘Cá bhfaighimid bia, nó deoch, nó éadach?’
32 Nithe iad siúd uile a mbíonn na págánaigh ar a dtóir; rud eile, tá a fhios ag bhur nAthair neamhaí go bhfuil gá agaibh leis na nithe sin uile.
33 Ach déanaigí ríocht Dé agus a fhíréantacht a lorg ar dtús, agus tabharfar na nithe sin uile daoibh chomh maith.
34 Mar sin, ná bígí imníoch faoin lá amárach; beidh an lá amarach imníoch faoi féin. Is leor do gach lá a chuid féin den trioblóid.

English Standard Version

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

Ecclesiastes 5:10

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:33

Cóheilit 5 (English Standard Version)

7 For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear.
8 If you see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and righteousness, do not be amazed at the matter, for the high official is watched by a higher, and there are yet higher ones over them.
9 But this is gain for a land in every way: a king committed to cultivated fields.
10 He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.
11 When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes?
12 Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.
13 There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt,

Matha 6 (English Standard Version)

30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
