An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Ná téigí i muinín spioraid na marbh, ná draíodóirí, mar go dtruailleoidís sibh. Mise an Tiarna bhur nDia.

Léivític 19:31

Chonaic an lucht fáistine físeanna falsa; bíonn na taibhrimh ag réamhfhógairt na baoise agus ag tabhairt sóláis bhréige.

Zacairia 10:2

Léivític 19 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

28 Ná ciorraígí bhur gcorp nuair a chailltear duine, agus ná cuirigí breacadh ar bith orthu. Mise an Tiarna.
29 Ná déan striapach de d’iníon agus í a thruailliú, le heagla go rachadh an tír le striapachas agus go mbeadh sé ar snámh le corbadh.
30 Coimeádaigí mo shabóidí agus bíodh urraim agaibh do mo shanctóir. Mise an Tiarna.
31 Ná téigí i muinín spioraid na marbh, ná draíodóirí, mar go dtruailleoidís sibh. Mise an Tiarna bhur nDia.
32 Éirigh i do sheasamh don cheann liath agus bíodh urraim agat don duine aosta, agus bíodh eagla do Dhé ort. Mise an Tiarna.
33 Nuair a chuireann deoraí faoi faraibh in bhur ndúiche, ná cuirigí isteach air.
34 An deoraí a chuireann faoi faraibh, bíodh sé mar dhuine de bhur ndúchasaigh agaibh, agus bíodh grá agaibh dó mar atá daoibh féin; óir bhí sibh féin in bhur ndeoraithe i dtír na hÉigipte. Mise an Tiarna bhur nDia.

Zacairia 10 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 Iarraigí fearthainn ar an Tiarna
i séasúr fhearthainn an earraigh;
óir, is é an Tiarna a dhéanann na néalta doininne.
Tabharfaidh sé ceathanna báistí daoibh
agus cuirfidh sé féar ag fás
i bpáirc an uile dhuine.
2 Óir, rinne na híola tí tairngreachtaí éithigh,
agus chonaic an lucht fáistine físeanna falsa;
bíonn na taibhrimh ag réamhfhógairt na baoise
agus ag tabhairt sóláis bhréige.
Dá dheasca sin uile, táthar imithe chun fáin mar thréad caorach
agus iad á gcrá cheal aoire.
3 Tá mo chuid feirge ar lasadh
in aghaidh na n-aoirí
agus cuirfidh mé pionós ar na treoraithe.
Ach tabharfaidh Tiarna na Slua cuairt
ar a thréad, ar theaghlach Iúdá,
agus déanfaidh sé capall maorga cogaidh de.
4 Is uaidh a thiocfaidh
an chloch chúinne agus an pionna botha,
an bogha cogaidh agus gach ceannasaí.
5 I dteannta a chéile beidh siad mar laochra
a shatlaíonn ar lathach na sráideanna sa chath.
Fearfaidh siad cogadh, mar tá an Tiarna leo,
agus an dream a bhíonn ag marcaíocht ar chapaill,
cuirfear raon maidhme orthu.

Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 19:31

The diviners see lies; they tell false dreams and give empty consolation.

Zechariah 10:2

Léivític 19 (English Standard Version)

28 You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.
29 “Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity.
30 You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
31 “Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.
32 “You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.
33 “When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.
34 You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Zacairia 10 (English Standard Version)

1 Ask rain from the Lord
in the season of the spring rain,
from the Lord who makes the storm clouds,
and he will give them showers of rain,
to everyone the vegetation in the field.
2 For the household gods utter nonsense,
and the diviners see lies;
they tell false dreams
and give empty consolation.
Therefore the people wander like sheep;
they are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.
3 “My anger is hot against the shepherds,
and I will punish the leaders;
for the Lord of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah,
and will make them like his majestic steed in battle.
4 From him shall come the cornerstone,
from him the tent peg,
from him the battle bow,
from him every ruler—all of them together.
5 They shall be like mighty men in battle,
trampling the foe in the mud of the streets;
they shall fight because the Lord is with them,
and they shall put to shame the riders on horses.
