An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Is údar lúcháire agaibhse é seo, fiú más dobrónach féin sibh ar feadh tamaill bhig de bharr trialacha den uile chineál.

1 Peadar 1:6

Bíodh áthas ar chách a ritheann chugat; gairdídís go brách; caomhnaigh an dream lenarb áil d’ainm chun go ndéana siad gairdeas ionat.

Salm 5:12

1 Peadar 1 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

3 Moladh le Dia agus Athair ár dTiarna Íosa Críost! D’athghin sé sinn as ucht a mhórthrócaire, trí aiséirí Íosa Críost ó mhairbh, chun bheomhuiníne
4 agus chun oidhreachta atá marthanach dothruaillithe, gan síothlú, oidhreacht atá in áirithe daoibh sna flaithis.
5 Tá sibh anois do bhur gcumhdach tríd an gcreideamh ag Dia na bhfeart, le haghaidh an tslánaithe atá réidh lena fhoilsiú ag deireadh ré.
6 Is údar lúcháire agaibhse é seo, fiú más dobrónach féin sibh ar feadh tamaill bhig de bharr trialacha den uile chineál,
7 d’fhonn go bhfaighfí fíormhianach bhur gcreidimh, atá níos luachmhaire ná ór – rud atá somhillte cé go dtástáiltear sa tine é – ag dul chun molta agus onóra agus glóire tráth a fhoilseofar Íosa Críost.
8 Ní fhaca sibh é, ach tugann sibh grá dó; ní fheiceann sibh anois féin é, ach creideann sibh ann, agus is lúcháireach sibh le háthas glórmhar dolabhartha,
9 agus slánú bhur n-anam á ghnóthú agaibh mar thoradh ar bhur gcreideamh.

Salm 5 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

9 Treoraigh mé a Thiarna, i d’fhíréantacht
mar gheall ar mo naimhde;
réitigh do shlí romham.
10 Níl an fhírinne le fáil ina mbéal;
tá cealg ina gcroí.
Is uaigh ar leathadh a gcraos;
is mealltach a dteanga.
11 Agair do bhreithiúnas orthu, a Thiarna;
go dteipe ar a mbearta;
cuir an ruaig orthu de dheasca a gcionta
óir d’éirigh siad i d’éadan.
12 Bíodh áthas ar chách a ritheann chugat;
gairdídís go brách;
caomhnaigh an dream lenarb áil d’ainm
chun go ndéana siad gairdeas ionat.
13 Óir beannóidh tú an fíréan, a Thiarna;
beidh do chineáltas amhail sciath ina thimpeall.

English Standard Version

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials.

1 Peter 1:6

Let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them.

Psalm 5:11

1 Peadar 1 (English Standard Version)

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Salm 5 (English Standard Version)

8 Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies;
make your way straight before me.
9 For there is no truth in their mouth;
their inmost self is destruction;
their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongue.
10 Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them fall by their own counsels;
because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may exult in you.
12 For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield.
