An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Bíodh eagla an Tiarna do Dhia ort.

Deotranaimí 6:13

Is é cúl taca na haimsire é; an eagna agus an t-eolas, is iad sin an stór a shlánaíonn, is í eagla an Tiarna is taisce dó.

Íseáia 33:6

Deotranaimí 6 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

10 “Nuair a thabharfaidh an Tiarna thú isteach sa tír a mhionnaigh sé do d’aithreacha, d’Abrahám, d’Íosác agus do Iacób a thabharfadh sé daoibh, mar aon le cathracha móra maithe nach tú a thóg,
11 agus tithe lán de ollmhaitheasaí de gach sórt nach tú a sholáthraigh, agus toibreacha doimhne nach tú a thochail, fíonghoirt agus crainn ola nach tú a phlandaigh – nuair a bheidh na nithe sin caite agat agus do sháith agat,
12 seachain agus ná déan dearmad ar an Tiarna a thug thú amach as tír na hÉigipte agus as teach na daoirse.
13 Bíodh eagla an Tiarna do Dhia ort, déan seirbhís dó agus mionnaigh dar a ainm.
14 Ná lean déithe eile, déithe na ndaoine máguaird oraibh.
15 Óir an Tiarna do Dhia a chónaíonn in bhur measc, is Dia éadmhar é; d’fhéadfadh a fhearg lasadh i d’aghaidh agus tú a scrios de chlár na cruinne.
16 Ná déan promhadh ar an Tiarna bhur nDia, mar rinne sibh leis ag Masá.

Íseáia 33 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

3 Le torann do theacht teitheann na ciníocha,
nuair a éiríonn tú, as go brách leis na náisiúin;
4 scuabtar suas a gcreach mar a scuabfadh lócaistí í,
tugtar áladh uirthi ar nós áladh de chuid na míolta sin.
5 Tá an Tiarna in airde, mar tá a chónaí san aird thuas;
líonann sé Síón le ceart agus le cóir.
6 Is é cúl taca na haimsire é;
an eagna agus an t-eolas, is iad sin an stór a shlánaíonn,
is í eagla an Tiarna is taisce dó.
7 Éist mar tá fir chalma ag glaoch ar chabhair os ard,
na teachtaí a cuireadh ag lorg síochána, tá siad ag gol go léanmhar.
8 Tá na bealaí móra tréigthe,
níl aon duine ag taisteal na mbóithre.
Tá an conradh briste, agus drochmheas ar na finnéithe,
ní thugtar aird ar an duine a thuilleadh.
9 Tá an tír ag mairgneach agus ag meath;
tá an Liobáin feoite le náire.
Is geall le gaineamhlach Seárón;
tá Báiseán agus Cairmeil suaite lomtha.

English Standard Version

It is the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve.

Deuteronomy 6:13

The fear of the Lord is Zion's treasure.

Isaiah 33:6

Deotranaimí 6 (English Standard Version)

10 “And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities that you did not build,
11 and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant—and when you eat and are full,
12 then take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
13 It is the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear.
14 You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are around you—
15 for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God—lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.
16 “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah.

Íseáia 33 (English Standard Version)

3 At the tumultuous noise peoples flee;
when you lift yourself up, nations are scattered,
4 and your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathers;
as locusts leap, it is leapt upon.
5 The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high;
he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness,
6 and he will be the stability of your times,
abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is Zion's treasure.
7 Behold, their heroes cry in the streets;
the envoys of peace weep bitterly.
8 The highways lie waste;
the traveler ceases.
Covenants are broken;
cities are despised;
there is no regard for man.
9 The land mourns and languishes;
Lebanon is confounded and withers away;
Sharon is like a desert,
and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
