Bibelen (Det Danske Bibelselskab)

Salmernes Bog 118 (Bibelen (Det Danske Bibelselskab))

15 Der lyder jubel og sejrsråb
i de retfærdiges telte:
Herrens højre hånd bringer sejr,
16 Herrens højre hånd er løftet,
Herrens højre hånd bringer sejr!
17 Jeg skal ikke dø, men leve
og fortælle om Herrens gerninger.
18 Herren tugtede mig hårdt,
men han overgav mig ikke til døden.
19 Luk retfærdighedens porte op,
jeg vil gå ind og takke Herren!
20 Her er Herrens port,
her går de retfærdige ind!

mist ikke modet, når du irettesættes af ham;

The Lord has disciplined me severely, but he has not given me over to death.

Psalm 118:18

If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

Hebrews 12:8

Salmernes Bog 118 (English Standard Version)

15 Glad songs of salvation
are in the tents of the righteous:
“The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
16 the right hand of the Lord exalts,
the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!”
17 I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of the Lord.
18 The Lord has disciplined me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord;
the righteous shall enter through it.
21 I thank you that you have answered me
and have become my salvation.

Hebræerne 12 (English Standard Version)

5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?
“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?
10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.
11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
