Tá a thrócaire ó ghlúin go glúin dóibh seo ar a mbíonn a eagla.

Lúcás 1:50

Salm 135 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

11 Síochon, rí na nAmórach
agus Óg a bhí ina rí ar Bháiseán,
agus ríthe Chanán go léir.
12 Agus thug sé a dtalamh mar oidhreacht,
mar oidhreacht do Iosrael, a phobal.
13 Maireann d’ainm de shíor, a Thiarna,
agus do chuimhne ó ghlúin go chéile.
14 Óir déanfaidh an Tiarna a phobal a chosaint;
agus glacfaidh sé trua dá lucht fónaimh.
15 Ór agus airgead íola na gciníocha,
saothar lámh na ndaoine.
16 Tá béal acu ach ní fhéadann siad labhairt;

17 tá cluasa orthu ach ní chluineann siad smid;
ná níl puth anála ina mbeola.

Lúcás 1 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

47 agus rinne mo spiorad gairdeas i nDia mo Shlánaitheoir.
48 Óir dhearc sé le fabhar ar ísle a bhanóglaigh;
mar féach, déarfaidh na glúine uile feasta gur méanar dom.
49 Óir rinne an Té atá cumhachtach nithe móra dom agus is naofa a ainm,
50 agus tá a thrócaire ó ghlúin go glúin
dóibh seo ar a mbíonn a eagla.
51 Thaispeáin sé neart a láimhe:
scaip sé an dream a bhí uaibhreach i smaointe a gcroí.
52 Leag sé prionsaí óna gcathaoireacha,
agus d’ardaigh sé daoine ísle;
53 Líon sé lucht an ocrais le nithe maithe,
agus chuir sé na saibhre uaidh folamh.

Luke 1:50

Salm 135 (English Standard Version)

11 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
and Og, king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan,
12 and gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to his people Israel.
13 Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
14 For the Lord will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths, but do not speak;
they have eyes, but do not see;
17 they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.

Lúcás 1 (English Standard Version)

47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
53 he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
