An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Ní toisc ár ndea-oibreacha a chuirimid ár n-urnaithe i do láthair, ach toisc iomad do mhórthrócaire.

Dainéil 9:18

Bígí sibhse atruach amhail mar atá bhur nAthair atruach.

Lúcás 6:36

Dainéil 9 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

15 Anois, a Thiarna, ár nDia, a thug do phobal ó thalamh na hÉigipte amach le láimh chumhachtach – agus maireann a cháil sin go dtí inniu féin – tá an peaca, an urchóid, déanta againne.
16 A Thiarna, de réir iomad do ghníomhartha fíréanta, iompaíodh d’fhearg is do chuthach ó do chathair Iarúsailéim, do shliabh naofa; mar trínár bpeacaí agus trí choireanna ar n-aithreacha, tá Iarúsailéim agus do phobal ina ábhar gáire ag cách máguaird orainn.
17 Uime sin, éist, a Dhia, le hachainí dá shearbhónta agus lena urnaithe. Ar do shon féin, a Thiarna, go ndealraí do ghnúis ar do shanctóir tréigthe.
18 Claon do chluas, a Dhia liom, agus éist; oscail do shúile agus feic ár n-ainnise agus an chathair ar a nglaoitear d’ainm; mar ní toisc ár ndea-oibreacha a chuirimid ár n-urnaithe i do láthair, ach toisc iomad do mhórthrócaire.
19 A Thiarna, tabhair cluas dúinn! a Thiarna, tabhair maithiúnas! A Thiarna, tóg ceann dúinn agus déan beart! Ná moilligh – ar do shon féin! a Dhia, mar tá glaoite ar d’ainm i gcabhair ar do chathair agus ar do phobal.”
20 Labhair mé arís, agus ghuigh mé ag admháil mo pheacaí féin agus peacaí mo phobail, Iosrael, agus ag déanamh m’urnaí i láthair an Tiarna, mo Dhia, ar son shliabh naofa mo Dhé.
21 Ag labhairt dom i mo ghuí, tháinig chugam faoi lánseol, Gaibriéil – an neach a bhí feicthe agam i bhfís ar dtús – ar uair íobartha na nóna.

Lúcás 6 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

33 Agus má dhéanann sibh an mhaith dóibh seo a dhéanann an mhaith daoibh, cad é an buíochas atá oraibh? Déanann na peacaigh féin an rud céanna.
34 Agus má thugann sibh iasacht dóibh seo gur dóigh mhaith agaibh iad, cad é an buíochas atá oraibh? Fiú amháin peacaigh, tugann siad iasacht do pheacaigh chun go bhfaighidís an oiread céanna ar ais.
35 Ach bíodh grá agaibh do bhur naimhde, déanaigí an mhaith agus tugaigí iasacht gan súil le cúiteamh ar bith, agus is mór é bhur dtuarastal, agus beidh sibh in bhur gclann don Té is Airde, óir bíonn seisean lách le daoine díomaíocha agus le drochdhaoine.
36 Bígí sibhse atruach amhail mar atá bhur nAthair atruach.
37 Ná tugaigí breith agus ní thabharfar breith oraibh. Ná daoraigí agus ní dhaorfar sibh. Maithigí agus maithfear daoibh.
38 Tugaigí agus tabharfar daoibh: tomhas maith, fuinte, craite, cruachta a chuirfear chugaibh in bhur n-ucht; óir is leis an tomhas lena dtomhaiseann sibh a thomhaisfear chugaibh ar ais.”
39 Agus dúirt sé parabal leo: “An féidir do dhall bheith ina ghiolla i gcionn daill? Nach dtitfidh siad araon sa díg?

We do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.

Daniel 9:18

Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

Luke 6:36

Dainéil 9 (English Standard Version)

15 And now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have made a name for yourself, as at this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
16 “O Lord, according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy hill, because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a byword among all who are around us.
17 Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord, make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate.
18 O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.
19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.”
20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God,
21 while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice.

Lúcás 6 (English Standard Version)

33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
37 “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;
38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
39 He also told them a parable:
“Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?
