An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Ar mo leaba dom i gcoim oíche a loirg mé grá m’anma, a loirg mé agus ní bhfuair.

Laoi na Laoithe 3:1

Is é an Tiarna do gharda is do dhídean, agus é ar do dheis. Ní bhuailfidh an ghrian thú i rith an lae, ná an ré istoíche.

Salm 121:5-6

Laoi na Laoithe 3 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 Ar mo leaba dom i gcoim oíche
a loirg mé grá m’anma,
a loirg mé agus ní bhfuair.
2 Éireoidh mé, cuardóidh mé,
tríd an mbaile, trí na sráideanna,
lorgfaidh mé grá mo chroí.
– Má loirg, ní bhfuair.
3 Theagmhaigh liom na gardaí
ar a gcuairteanna tríd an mbaile:
“An bhfaca sibh grá mo chroí?”
4 Ní fada a ghabh mé tharstu
gur theagmhaigh grá mo chroí liom.
Rugas greim air nach scaoilfidh mé
go dtabharfaidh mé isteach é
i dteach mo mháthar
i seomra mo bhuime.

Salm 121 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

2 Is ón Tiarna féin atá mo chúnamh,
a rinne neamh agus talamh.
3 Nár lige sé duit tuisliú go deo;
nár dhéana do gharda codladh.
4 Féach! ní thitfidh sámhchodladh ná suan
ar gharda Iosrael.
5 Is é an Tiarna do gharda is do dhídean,
agus é ar do dheis.
6 Ní bhuailfidh an ghrian thú i rith an lae,
ná an ré istoíche.
7 Coimeádfaidh an Tiarna ón uile olc thú;
coimeádfaidh sé d’anam.
8 Coimeádfaidh an Tiarna thú ag imeacht is ag teacht duit,
anois agus choíche.

Song of Solomon 3:1

The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

Psalm 121:5-6

Laoi na Laoithe 3 (English Standard Version)

1 On my bed by night
I sought him whom my soul loves;
I sought him, but found him not.
2 I will rise now and go about the city,
in the streets and in the squares;
I will seek him whom my soul loves.
I sought him, but found him not.
3 The watchmen found me
as they went about in the city.
“Have you seen him whom my soul loves?”
4 Scarcely had I passed them
when I found him whom my soul loves.
I held him, and would not let him go
until I had brought him into my mother's house,
and into the chamber of her who conceived me.

2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.

he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
