An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Nuair a bhí mo spiorad á chloí istigh ionam, b’eol duit féin mo shlí.

Salm 142:4

Sin é fáth go bhfuilim sásta le mo laigí, leis na tarcaisní, na hangair, na géarleanúintí agus na cúngrachtaí a bhíonn le fulaingt agam ar son Chríost. Mar nuair a bhím lag, sin í an uair a bhím láidir.

2 Corantaigh 12:10

Salm 142 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 Mascil Dháiví nuair a bhí sé san uaimh. Urnaí.
2 Glaoim os ard ar an Tiarna;
achainím os ard ar an Tiarna.
3 Déanaim mo ghearán go dian ina fhianaise;
agus nochtaim m’anacra ina láthair.
4 Nuair a bhí mo spiorad á chloí istigh ionam,
b’eol duit féin mo shlí.
Sa tslí ina bhfuil mo shiúl
cuireadh gaiste i bhfolach romham.
5 Breathnaím ar mo dheis agus feicim
nach bhfuil neach ann a dhéanfadh cúram díom.
Níl bealach éalaithe agam;
ní chuireann aon neach spéis i m’anam.
6 Is ort a ghlaoim, a Thiarna;
deirim: “Is tú mo dhídean;
a bhfuil agam i dtír na mbeo.”
7 Éist, dá bhrí sin, le mo ghlao;
óir tá mé i gcorrach na haimiléise.
Fuascail mé ó lucht mo ghéarleanúna,
óir is treise iad siúd ná mé.

2 Corantaigh 12 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

7 Agus le heagla go gcuirfeadh na foilsithe iontacha sin an iomarca éirí in airde orm, cuireadh bior sa bheo ionam, teachtaire ó Shátan chun mé a ghreadadh ar shlí nach dtiocfadh aon éirí in airde orm.
8 D’agair mé an Tiarna faoi thrí é a chur díom,
9 ach is é a dúirt sé liom: “Is leor duit mo ghrásta, mar is tríd an laige a thagann an neart chun foirfeachta.” Is móide is fonn liom dá bhrí sin a bheith ag maíomh as mo laigí le hionchas go luífeadh cumhacht Chríost orm.
10 Sin é fáth go bhfuilim sásta le mo laigí, leis na tarcaisní, na hangair, na géarleanúintí agus na cúngrachtaí a bhíonn le fulaingt agam ar son Chríost. Mar nuair a bhím lag, sin í an uair a bhím láidir.
11 Tá amadán déanta agam díom féin, agus is sibhse faoi deara dom é mar is daoibhse ba chóir mo pháirt a ghlacadh. Mura fiú le háireamh féin mé, ní mhaithfinn bonn do na sáraspail úd.
12 Tá comharthaí an aspail curtha i gcrích le barr foighne in bhur measc le míorúiltí agus le hiontais agus le fearta.
13 Cad é an buntáiste a bhí ag na heaglaisí eile oraibh ach amháin nach raibh mise i mo mhuirín oraibh? Maithigí dom an éagóir sin!

When my spirit faints within me, you know my way!

Psalm 142:3

Paul writes:

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10

Salm 142 (English Standard Version)

1 With my voice I cry out to the Lord;
with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord.
2 I pour out my complaint before him;
I tell my trouble before him.
3 When my spirit faints within me,
you know my way!
In the path where I walk
they have hidden a trap for me.
4 Look to the right and see:
there is none who takes notice of me;
no refuge remains to me;
no one cares for my soul.
5 I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
6 Attend to my cry,
for I am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
for they are too strong for me!

2 Corantaigh 12 (English Standard Version)

7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.
8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.
9 But he said to me,
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
11 I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not at all inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing.
12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works.
13 For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!
