An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Dírigh mo chéimeanna de réir do bhriathair; ná gabhadh an urchóid forlámhas orm.

Salm 119:133

Is fearr an croí a neartú le grásta Dé.

Eabhraigh 13:9

Salm 119 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

130 Tugann foilsiú do bhriathair solas dom,
agus teagasc do lucht aineolais.
131 Bíonn mo bhéal ar leathadh ag osnaíl dom
agus mé ag tnúth le d’aitheanta.
132 Iompaigh chugam agus taispeáin dom do thrua,
mar a dhéanann tú do do chairde.
133 Dírigh mo chéimeanna de réir do bhriathair;
ná gabhadh an urchóid forlámhas orm.
134 Déan mo shaoradh ar ansmacht na ndaoine;
agus coimeádfaidh mé do phroiceapta.
135 Soilsíodh solas do ghnúise ar do ghiolla;
agus múin dom do reachtanna.
136 Chaoin mé uisce mo chinn
toisc nár coimeádadh do dhlí.

Eabhraigh 13 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

6 Mar sin de, ní miste dúinn a rá go muiníneach: “Is é an Tiarna a thugann cabhair dom, ní bheidh eagla dá laghad orm. Cad is féidir le haon duine a dhéanamh orm?”
7 Cuimhnígí ar na ceannairí a bhí agaibh tráth, an mhuintir a d’fhógair briathar Dé daoibh. Machnaígí ar dhea-chríoch a saoilsean agus déanaigí aithris ar a gcreideamh.
8 Ach is mar a chéile Íosa Críost inné agus inniu agus go brách.
9 Ná cuirtear ar seachrán sibh le gach saghas teagaisc strainséartha. Is fearr an croí a neartú le grásta [Dé] ná le cúrsaí bia nach ndeachaigh chun sochair do na daoine a bhíodh ag plé leo.
10 Tá altóir againne nach ceadmhach do lucht freastail an Teampaill ithe di.
11 Is lasmuigh den champa a dhóitear conablaigh na n-ainmhithe a dtugann an t-ardsagart a gcuid fola isteach san Áit Rónaofa in éiric an pheaca.
12 Sin é an fáth ar fhulaing Íosa a pháis lasmuigh den gheata nuair ba mhian leis an pobal a naomhú lena chuid fola féin.

English Standard Version

Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.

Psalm 119:133

It is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace.

Hebrews 13:9

Salm 119 (English Standard Version)

130 The unfolding of your words gives light;
it imparts understanding to the simple.
131 I open my mouth and pant,
because I long for your commandments.
132 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
as is your way with those who love your name.
133 Keep steady my steps according to your promise,
and let no iniquity get dominion over me.
134 Redeem me from man's oppression,
that I may keep your precepts.
135 Make your face shine upon your servant,
and teach me your statutes.
136 My eyes shed streams of tears,
because people do not keep your law.

Eabhraigh 13 (English Standard Version)

6 So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
9 Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.
11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.
12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.
