An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Ní dhéanfaidh sibh déithe airgid ná déithe óir le cur ina seasamh le mo thaobh, ná ní dhéanfaidh sibh a leithéid daoibh féin.

Eaxodus 20:23

San áit a mbíonn bhur stór, is ann a bheidh bhur gcroí freisin.

Lúcás 12:34

Eaxodus 20 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

20 Agus dúirt Maois leis an bpobal: “Ná bíodh eagla oraibh óir tháinig an Tiarna d’fhonn sibh a phromhadh, agus go mbeadh a eagla os comhair bhur súl agaibh agus nach ndéanfadh sibh peaca.”
21 D’fhan an pobal i bhfad siar dá bhrí sin agus dhruid Maois leis an scamall tiubh dorcha mar a raibh an Tiarna.
22 Dúirt an Tiarna le Maois: “Abair é seo le clann Iosrael:
Chonaic sibh féin gur labhair mé libh ó neamh.
23 Ní dhéanfaidh sibh déithe airgid ná déithe óir le cur ina seasamh le mo thaobh, ná ní dhéanfaidh sibh a leithéid daoibh féin.
24 Altóir chré a thógfaidh sibh dom agus déanfaidh sibh bhur íobairtí loiscthe agus síochána ó bhur dtréada agus ó bhur dtáinte, a ofráil dom uirthi. Cibé áit ina mbeidh cuimhne ar m’ainm á dhéanamh, tiocfaidh mé chugat le beannacht duit.
25 Más altóir chloiche a dhéanfaidh tú dom, ní thógfaidh tú í de chlocha snoite; óir má bhíonn uirlis agat á himirt uirthi, beidh sí a truailliú agat.
26 Ní ar chéimeanna a rachaidh tú suas chun m’altora d’fhonn nach nochtfaí do nochtacht.

Lúcás 12 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

31 Ach déanaigí a ríocht sin a lorg, agus tabharfar daoibh na nithe úd chomh maith.
32 Ná bíodh eagla oraibh, a thréad bheag, óir ba ghnaoi le bhur nAthair an ríocht a thabhairt daoibh.
33 Díolaigí a bhfuil agaibh agus déanaigí déirc; déanaigí daoibh féin sparáin nach gcaithfear le haois, stór do-ídithe sna flaithis mar nach dtagann an bithiúnach ina ghar agus nach mbíonn an leamhan á lot.
34 Óir, san áit a mbíonn bhur stór, is ann a bheidh bhur gcroí freisin.
35 “Bíodh crios faoi bhur gcoim agaibh agus bhur lampaí ar lasadh,
36 agus sibh cosúil le daoine a bhíonn ag súil lena máistir a theacht ar ais ón mbainis, ionas, nuair a thiocfaidh sé agus go mbuailfidh, go n-osclóidh siad láithreach dó.
37 Is méanar do na seirbhísigh sin a bhfaighidh an máistir ag faire iad nuair a thagann. Deirim libh go fírinneach, fáiscfidh sé crios faoi agus cuirfidh ina suí chun boird iad agus rachaidh thart ag freastal orthu.

You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.

Exodus 20:23

Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 12:34

Eaxodus 20 (English Standard Version)

20 Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”
21 The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
22 And the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the people of Israel: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.
24 An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.
25 If you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stones, for if you wield your tool on it you profane it.
26 And you shall not go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness be not exposed on it.’

Lúcás 12 (English Standard Version)

31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
32 “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning,
36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks.
37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.
