An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Threoraigh tú le teann grá an pobal a d’fhuascail tú; rinne tú eolas dóibh le do neart chun d’áitribh naofa.

Eaxodus 15:13

Dúirt Muire:

D’fhóir sé ar Iosrael a sheirbhíseach, ag cuimhneamh dó ar a thrócaire – de réir mar gheall sé dar n-aithreacha – d’Abrahám agus dá shliocht go brách.

Lúcás 1:54-55

Eaxodus 15 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

10 Shéid tú anáil, agus d’iaigh an fharraige orthu.
Chuadar faoi mar luaidhe sna huiscí gáifeacha.
11 Cé is cosúil leat ar na déithe, a Thiarna?
Cé is cosúil leat, a Thiarna, le mórgacht do naofachta
le huafás d’éachtaí glórmhara agus leis na hiontais a chuireann tú i gcrích?
12 Shín tú amach do dheaslámh agus shlog an talamh iad.
13 Threoraigh tú le teann grá an pobal a d’fhuascail tú;
rinne tú eolas dóibh le do neart chun d’áitribh naofa.
14 Ar a chlos seo dóibh, tháinig ballchrith ar na ciníocha;
chuaigh áithritheoirí na Filistíne i gceas naíon.
15 Tháinig suaitheadh ar phrionsaí Eadóm;
bhí greim ag an gcreathán ar cheannairí Mhóáb;
d’imigh leá ar áithritheoirí Chanán go léir.
16 Tháinig scéin agus scanradh orthu;
mar gur thréan í do lámh, bhíodar gan cor astu dála na cloiche;
go ndeachaigh do phobal thar bráid, a Thiarna;
go ndeachaigh an pobal a d’fhuascail tú thar bráid.

Lúcás 1 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

51 Thaispeáin sé neart a láimhe:
scaip sé an dream a bhí uaibhreach i smaointe a gcroí.
52 Leag sé prionsaí óna gcathaoireacha,
agus d’ardaigh sé daoine ísle;
53 Líon sé lucht an ocrais le nithe maithe,
agus chuir sé na saibhre uaidh folamh.
54 D’fhóir sé ar Iosrael a sheirbhíseach,
ag cuimhneamh dó ar a thrócaire –
55 de réir mar gheall sé dar n-aithreacha –
d’Abrahám agus dá shliocht go brách.”
56 D’fhan Muire aici timpeall trí mhí, agus d’fhill abhaile.
57 Tháinig a hionú d’Eiliosaibeit agus rug sí mac.
58 Agus chuala a comharsana agus a gaolta go ndearna Dia a thrócaire go hiomarcúil uirthi, agus rinne siad comhghairdeas léi.

You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed.

Exodus 15:13

Mary said:

God has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.

Luke 1:54-55

Eaxodus 15 (English Standard Version)

10 You blew with your wind; the sea covered them;
they sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 “Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like you, majestic in holiness,
awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?
12 You stretched out your right hand;
the earth swallowed them.
13 “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed;
you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.
14 The peoples have heard; they tremble;
pangs have seized the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 Now are the chiefs of Edom dismayed;
trembling seizes the leaders of Moab;
all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.
16 Terror and dread fall upon them;
because of the greatness of your arm, they are still as a stone,
till your people, O Lord, pass by,
till the people pass by whom you have purchased.

Lúcás 1 (English Standard Version)

51 He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
53 he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
55 as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
56 And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.
57 Now the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son.
58 And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.
