1 你 们 的 　 神 说 ： 你 们 要 安 慰 ， 安 慰 我 的 百 姓 。
2 要 对 耶 路 撒 冷 说 安 慰 的 话 ， 又 向 他 宣 告 说 ， 他 争 战 的 日 子 已 满 了 ； 他 的 罪 孽 赦 免 了 ； 他 为 自 己 的 一 切 罪 ， 从 耶 和 华 手 中 加 倍 受 罚 。
3 有 人 声 喊 着 说 ： 在 旷 野 预 备 耶 和 华 的 路 （ 或 译 ： 在 旷 野 ， 有 人 声 喊 着 说 ： 当 预 备 耶 和 华 的 路 ） ， 在 沙 漠 地 修 平 我 们 神 的 道 。
4 一 切 山 洼 都 要 填 满 ， 大 小 山 冈 都 要 削 平 ； 高 高 低 低 的 要 改 为 平 坦 ， 崎 崎 岖 岖 的 必 成 为 平 原 。
5 耶 和 华 的 荣 耀 必 然 显 现 ； 凡 有 血 气 的 必 一 同 看 见 ； 因 为 这 是 耶 和 华 亲 口 说 的 。
6 有 人 声 说 ： 你 喊 叫 罢 ！ 有 一 个 说 ： 我 喊 叫 甚 麽 呢 ？ 说 ： 凡 有 血 气 的 尽 都 如 草 ； 他 的 美 容 都 像 野 地 的 花 。

27 约 翰 说 ： 「 若 不 是 从 天 上 赐 的 ， 人 就 不 能 得 甚 麽 。
28 我 曾 说 ： 『 我 不 是 基 督 ， 是 奉 差 遣 在 他 前 面 的 』 ， 你 们 自 己 可 以 给 我 作 见 证 。
29 娶 新 妇 的 就 是 新 郎 ； 新 郎 的 朋 友 站 着 ， 听 见 新 郎 的 声 音 就 甚 喜 乐 。 故 此 ， 我 这 喜 乐 满 足 了 。
30 他 必 兴 旺 ， 我 必 衰 微 。 」
31 「 从 天 上 来 的 是 在 万 有 之 上 ； 从 地 上 来 的 是 属 乎 地 ， 他 所 说 的 也 是 属 乎 地 。 从 天 上 来 的 是 在 万 有 之 上 。
32 他 将 所 见 所 闻 的 见 证 出 来 ， 只 是 没 有 人 领 受 他 的 见 证 。
33 那 领 受 他 见 证 的 ， 就 印 上 印 ， 证 明 神 是 真 的 。

He must increase, but I must decrease.

1 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her
that her warfare is ended,
that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord's hand
double for all her sins.
3 A voice cries:
“In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be lifted up,
and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
and the rough places a plain.
5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
and all flesh shall see it together,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
6 A voice says, “Cry!”
And I said, “What shall I cry?”
All flesh is grass,
and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.

约翰福音 3 (English Standard Version)

27 John answered, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.
28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.’
29 The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”
31 He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven is above all.
32 He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony.
33 Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.
