An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Dúirt Dia fós le hAbrahám: Ó do thaobhsa de, coimeádfaidh tú mo Chonradh, tú féin agus do shliocht i do dhiaidh ó ghlúin go glúin.

Geineasas 17:9

Tá an peaca déanta acu uile agus iad uile in uireasa ghlóire Dé; fíréanaítear in aisce lena ghrásta iad de bharr na fuascailte atá in Íosa Críost.

Rómhánaigh 3:23-24

Geineasas 17 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

6 Cuirfidh mé rath thar cuimse ort, agus déanfaidh mé ciníocha díot agus tiocfaidh ríthe ar do shíol.
7 Daingneoidh mé mo Chonradh idir mé agus tú, agus do shliocht i do dhiaidh, glúin ar ghlúin; beidh sé mar Chonradh síoraí mise a bheith i mo Dhia agatsa agus ag do shliocht i do dhiaidh.
8 Agus tabharfaidh mé duitse agus do do shliocht i do dhiaidh tír do dheoraíochta, tír Chanán go léir, i do sheilbh go brách agus beidh mé féin i mo Dhia acu.”
9 Agus dúirt Dia le hAbrahám: “Ó do thaobhsa de, coimeádfaidh tú mo Chonradh, tú féin agus do shliocht i do dhiaidh ó ghlúin go glúin.
10 Is é seo an Conradh liomsa a choimeádfaidh tú idir mise agus tusa agus do shliocht i do dhiaidh: Déantar timpeallghearradh ar gach uile leanbh mic de bhur gcuid;
11 déanaigí feoil bhur bhforchraicinn a thimpeallghearradh agus is é sin a bheidh ina chomhartha don Chonradh atá eadrainn.
12 Nuair a bheidh siad ocht lá d’aois caithfear timpeallghearradh a dhéanamh ar gach gin mhic ó ghlúin go glúin, cibé acu a bhéarfar i do theach iad nó a cheannófar iad ó choigríoch nach de do shíolsa.

Rómhánaigh 3 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

20 Mar ní fhíréanófar duine ar bith i bhfianaise Dé as an dlí a chomhlíonadh. Óir is aithne ar an bpeaca a thagann ón dlí.
21 Anois, áfach, tá fíréantacht Dé arna nochtadh gan spleáchas leis an dlí ach go bhfuil an dlí agus na fáithe ina bhfianaise uirthi.
22 Trí chreideamh in Íosa Críost téann an fhíréantacht seo Dé i gcion ar an uile dhuine a bhfuil an creideamh aige. Níl aon dealú ann,
23 mar tá an peaca déanta acu uile agus iad uile in uireasa ghlóire Dé;
24 fíréanaítear in aisce lena ghrásta iad de bharr na fuascailte atá in Íosa Críost,
25 an té ar leag Dia amach dó a bheith in shás peacaí a ghlanadh lena chuid fola ach creideamh a bheith ann, chun fíréantacht Dé a thaispeáint agus a rá gur lig sé thairis le barr a fhoighne na seanpheacaí a bhí déanta;
26 agus lena thaispeáint san am i láthair chomh maith go bhfuil sé fíréanta ann féin agus go bhfíréanaíonn sé gach duine a bhfuil a chreideamh in Íosa aige.
27 Cá bhfuil do chuid mórála, mar sin? Tá an doras dúnta uirthi. Agus cad é an saghas dlí a dhún an doras uirthi? Dlí na n-oibreacha an ea? Ní hea go deimhin, ach dlí an chreidimh.

Geineasas 17 (English Standard Version)

6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.
8 And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”
9 And God said to Abraham, “As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations.
10 This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.
11 You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.
12 He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring,

Rómhánaigh 3 (English Standard Version)

20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—
22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.
26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith.
