An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Ná bígí mar an each ná an mhiúil, gan chiall gan tuiscint. Mura gcoisctear le béalbhach agus srian iad ní thiocfaidh siad i do chóngar.

Salm 32:9

Is grámhar trócaireach é an Tiarna bhur nDia; má fhilleann sibh air ní iompóidh sé a ghnúis uaibh.

2 Croinicí 30:9

Salm 32 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

6 Guífidh gach neach diaga thú, dá bhrí sin,
in am an éigin.
Nuair a bhrúchtfaidh na tuilte móra
ní thiocfaidh siad i ngar dó.
7 Is tú m’áit fholaigh, a Thiarna,
do m’fhuascailt ó m’anacair;
cuireann tú gártha fuascailte thart timpeall orm.
8 Tabharfaidh mé teagasc agus múinfidh mé
an tslí is triallta duit.
Tabharfaidh mé comhairle agus eolas duit;
coimeádfaidh mé súil ort.
9 Ná bígí mar an each ná an mhiúil,
gan chiall gan tuiscint.
Mura gcoisctear le béalbhach agus srian iad
ní thiocfaidh siad i do chóngar.
10 Is líonmhar iad dóláis na n-éagráifeach,
ach tá trocaire agus grá
ag an té a mbíonn a dhóchas sa Tiarna.
11 Déanaigí lúcháir agus gairdeas sa Tiarna,
a fhíréana uile.
Déanaigí aoibhneas agus áthas
a lucht an chroí dhírigh.

2 Croinicí 30 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

6 D’imigh teachtairí ó Iarúsailéim le litreacha ó lámha an rí agus a fheidhmeannach ó cheann ceann Iosrael agus Iúdá. Bhí orduithe acu ón rí á rá: “A chlann Iosrael, filligí ar an Tiarna, Dia Abrahám agus Íosác, agus Iosrael, d’fhonn go gcasfadh sé arís ar an iarmhar díbh a d’éalaigh ó láimh ríthe na hAsaíre.
7 Ná bígí ar aon dul le bhur sinsir, agus bhur ngaolta, nach raibh dílis don Tiarna, Dia a n-aithreacha, i dtreo go ndearna sé scrios orthu, mar a fheiceann sibh.
8 Ná bígí stuacach anois mar a bhí bhur sinsir; géilligí don Tiarna, agus tagaigí chun a shanctóra, an sanctóir a choisric sé go síoraí; déanaigí seirbhís don Tiarna bhur nDia le go gcasfaidh fraoch a fheirge uaibh.
9 Má fhilleann sibh ar an Tiarna gheobhaidh bhur ngaolta agus bhur gclann fabhar i láthair lucht a ngafa agus fillfidh siad ar an tír seo. Óir is grámhar trócaireach é an Tiarna bhur nDia; má fhilleann sibh air ní iompóidh sé a ghnúis uaibh.”
10 Ghabh na teachtairí ó chathair go cathair, trí thír Eafráim agus Mhanaise agus ar aghaidh go Zabúlun; ach bhíothas ag magadh agus ag déanamh fonóide fúthu,
11 ach go raibh sé d’umhlaíocht i mbeagán ó Áiséar, ó Mhanaise agus ó Zabúlun, teacht go Iarúsailéim.
12 Ach bhí lámh Dé ghníomhach in Iúdá, á dtabhairt ar aon chroí le hordú an rí agus a fheidhmeannach a chomhlíonadh, mar a bhí ordaithe ag briathar an Tiarna.

Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.

Psalm 32:9

The Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.

2 Chronicles 30:9

Salm 32 (English Standard Version)

6 Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him.
7 You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance.
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
9 Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

2 Croinicí 30 (English Standard Version)

6 So couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his princes, as the king had commanded, saying, “O people of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.
7 Do not be like your fathers and your brothers, who were faithless to the Lord God of their fathers, so that he made them a desolation, as you see.
8 Do not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.
9 For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children will find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”
10 So the couriers went from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.
11 However, some men of Asher, of Manasseh, and of Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.
12 The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the Lord.
